In his corner of the Old Bank District, Josef Centeno starts Bar Amá’s brunch later than most restaurants. You’ll forgive the delay. Centeno’s reimagined cantina elevates Tex-Mex comfort food to culinary creativity. The full bar offers spiked agua frescas, made-to-order cocktails and a lengthy list of mezcals.

This stylish spot becomes a hub for Downtowners on weekends, with an all-day menu that offers everything from an arugula and fennel salad to a plate of ricotta pancakes and a Moroccan scramble, made with house merguez sausage.

Located in the heart of downtown, Ledlow is an American bistro, serving up everything from strawberry shortcakes to deviled eggs and ham. More substantial options like the shrimp & grits or the fried chicken club sandwich is available for those who want to forgo eating for the rest of the day.

Offering East-meets-West inspired dishes, the atmosphere at Little Sister is so relaxed that patrons almost feel like they are dining in chef Tin Vuong’s home. This downtown outpost serves redefined Southeast Asian classics such as spring rolls wrapped in rice paper, coconut-braised pork with quail eggs, and a shareable hot pot of braised beef shank.
