Staff Spotlight: Colin Daley

December 6, 2016

This week, we’re bringing you a special Staff Spotlight edition of the LEVEL blog, where you get a chance to meet some of the people who keep LEVEL up and running. With over 60 associates working with us, there are a lot of stories to tell!

Today, we’re happy to introduce you to our Executive Director Of Sales, Colin Daley. With an extensive background in the hospitality industry, Colin has worked with some of the world’s most luxurious properties. Before coming to LEVEL, he spent 9 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as well as stints with Hilton Hotels Worldwide and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. A Canadian transplant, Colin has been with us for over two years!

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland but I lived in Whistler and Hawaii before moving to LA.

What is a typical day at work like?

Between leading my sales team and managing my own clients there’s no shortage of work to be done! There’s lots of prospecting, site tours, entertaining clients…the list goes on!

What has been your most memorable experience working at LEVEL?

Oh, that’s a tough one! There have been many memorable moments from pre-opening to present day operations. I would have to say our Grand Opening Party was one of the most memorable moments, as we had over 800 people from DTLA come out to celebrate and support LEVEL. The party took place on our roof top patio with incredible live entertainment, plenty of delicious appetizers and fancy cocktails…definitely one for the books!

What is the best part of your job?

Meeting people from all over the world and helping them relocate to DTLA!

What is your favorite thing about DTLA?

It’s Los Angeles’ most walkable neighborhood with a high density of dining options. You can literally walk to about 30 restaurants, bars, and cafes in five minutes.

What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

Definitely The Stocking Frame. They have the best Pastrami Tacos!

Where is your favorite place to grab coffee?

Either Cognoscenti Coffee downstairs or Om Nom Organics.

And lastly, what is your favorite way to relax and unwind?

Listening to music, hiking and hanging out at the beach. If I can manage to do all of them in one day, it doesn’t get any better than that!
