LEVEL Low Down: What to Do in Vancouver this Halloween

October 29, 2018

Even though Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year, doesn’t mean it’ll be any less fun. Get in a spooky mood by visiting Vancouver’s biggest theme park as it gets decked out for Halloween, or go for a lesser scare with the kids at Stanley Park’s Ghost Train. For those who love a good cocktail, head to the Vancouver Aquarium’s after-hours Halloween Party and learn all about the dark side of the ocean.

Fright Nights at Playland

Visit Fright Night at Vancouver’s Playland as it gets revamped for Halloween. Ghouls and zombies dress up and hide throughout the park to give you a scare, while all of the favourite rides are open for your enjoyment. Don’t forget to try out one of the eight haunted houses. This event runs until October 31st.

Halloween After Hours at the Vancouver Aquarium

Explore the dark side of the ocean on Halloween at the Vancouver Aquarium. Opening its doors for a spooktacular adults-only night, the aquarium will offer a number of shows, a penguin walk (where you get up close with a real penguin), as well as a dangerous animal science talk and a number of exhibitions. The best part? You’ll get to enjoy all this with a cocktail in hand.

Halloween Mystery Night

The Halloween Mystery Night returns this year with a Gastown Murder Mystery that runs from 7pm every night until October 31st. Team up with a few friends as a murder mystery unfolds when you make your way through Gastown completing challenges and collecting clues.

Stanley Park Ghost Train

Take the kids during the day or grab a friend at night as you head to Stanley Park to board the annual Halloween Ghost Train. This year the train will take you through a Celtic themed exhibition where nothing is as it seems. Enjoy churros and chocolate as you listen to ghost stories told by the team from Vancouver Public Library.
