LEVEL Furnished Living’s Guide To A Weekend Staycation in Vancouver

May 25, 2018

Whether you’ve been living at LEVEL for years, or you’re here temporarily for work, we understand that you’re busy working away. Which makes enjoying the weekends that much more important. Weekends are all about good food, drinks, and company, which in Vancouver, we’re lucky to have access to plenty. If you’re new to the city, or you’re curious about our best recommendations nearby, we’re sharing our guide to the ideal weekend staycation in Vancouver.

Stop 1: Brunch At Nero Waffle Bar

You don’t have to wander far to get some of the best brunch in Yaletown. Attached to our Seymour property, Nero Waffle Bar serves both sweet and savoury Belgian waffles. From classic toppings like banana and Nutella to decadent ones like ice cream, Oreo and hazelnut crumble, you’ll be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you’d rather opt for savoury, think brie, smoked salmon, and arugula, just to name a few.

Stop 2: Soak Up The Sun At English Bay

Grab some snacks from Choices Market, located halfway between LEVEL Richards and Seymour, and head towards English Bay. Whether you feel like lounging at the beach or getting active around the seawall, you can do both here. Rent a bike or rollerblades at Bayshore Rentals, and take in the beautiful North Shore Mountains while you ride along the shoreline. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, set up camp at the beach and enjoy your well-deserved snacks and sunshine. When you’re all sunned out, pop into Cactus Club Cafe for a refreshing frosé cocktail.

Stop 3: BBQ On The Patio

Instead of dining out for another meal, head back to LEVEL to take advantage of our outdoor lounge and BBQ area. Burgers, skewers, steak – whatever you’re craving – cook to your heart’s desire on our spacious patio. LEVEL tip: prep a jug of sangria ahead of time to enjoy while the sun sets against the downtown skyline.

Stop 4: Cocktails At Banter Room

Now that you’ve fulfilled your hosting duties, the many bars of Yaletown await. One of our favourite spots for late night cocktails is Banter Room, just down the street. Grab a comfortable seat, order up, and dance the night away at this Yaletown hot spot. If you’re feeling fancy, you may even hit up their champagne vending machine.

Sunday Morning: Recovery Day

After a full day and long night, you’re bound to be exhausted. We suggest heading to Earls for their Happy Hour brunch from 10 am until noon. With $8 entrees and $5 caesars, mimosas, and baileys and coffees, you can’t go wrong. Once you’re satisfied, head back to LEVEL to lounge poolside for the rest of your afternoon.
