The LEVEL Low Down: Vancouver Food Trucks

July 10, 2018

Whether you’re new to Vancouver or you’ve been here a while, you’ve likely noticed the abundance of food trucks throughout the city. From Mexican and Indian to Israeli and Korean cuisine, the Vancouver streets offer it all. With so many to choose from, we’re sharing four of our favourites to help make your choice easier next time hunger strikes!

Tacofino

Home to (allegedly) the best fish taco in BC, Tacofino serves up creative and flavourful Mexican cuisine. In addition to fish, choose from flavours like chicken karaage, pork, and bahn tofu, in your choice of a taco or burrito. With two trucks in Vancouver to satisfy your cravings, you’ll find the pink truck in the heart of downtown, while the blue truck hops around through the week.

Vij’s Railway Express

Brought to you by Vij’s restaurant, Vij’s Railway Express brings Indian fusion to the streets. With dishes like Butter Chicken Schnitzel Curry and Seared Pacific Cod, this Indian food truck is self-proclaimed “curry art in motion.” If you’re a sucker for flavour, we guarantee this truck is for you.

Chickpea

Plant-based comfort food with a Mediterranean twist, Chickpea is known to serve delicious and generous portions. How it works: you choose your main – think, Falafel, Shakshuka and Shawarma – and how you’d like it served, in a pita, with salad, or on a hummus plate. While the food is all 100% vegan, we promise you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy it!

Disco Cheetah

Colourful and funky, Disco Cheetah serves Korean inspired tacos, burritos, rice bowls, and quesadillas. Choose between tender beef, spicy chicken, or sweet tofu, all topped off with seasoned veggies and house sauces. Or you can opt for their Korean fries, topped with fried chicken, sweet chili, pickled radish and housemade garlic. Either way, you’ll find no lack of flavour here!
