Staff Spotlight: Larisse Campbell

May 25, 2017

This week, we’re bringing you a special Staff Spotlight edition of the LEVEL blog, where you get a chance to meet some of the people who keep LEVEL up and running. With over 60 associates working with us, there are a lot of stories to tell!

Today we are introducing Larisse Campbell, who joined the team in 2011 making her our longest standing Guest Services Agent.

Where are you from?
I was born in Virginia but lived in Edmonton until I moved to Vancouver in 2010.

What is a typical day at work like?
I often work in the afternoons and evenings, so I come in and prepare myself for the arrivals, spend the day checking in new guests, and follow up with other requests from the daytime. In the evenings, I often have the opportunity to connect with our guests and give recommendations on the best places to visit in the city, or where to have dinner.

What is the best part of your job?
There are so many wonderful things about my job, but one of my favourite things is the ability we have to really get to know and connect with our long-term guests. We have the opportunity to spend time with them and their families and by the time they check out, they become like friends. It’s often hard to see them leave.

What has been your most memorable moment or experience working at LEVEL?
The Canadian women’s soccer team stayed with us as they trained before their phenomenal summer Olympic appearances in both London and Brazil and we were so excited to see them win their medals. To get to know them prior to the games, rooting for them as they played, and then seeing them excelling like they did was magical as they have put soccer back on the minds of many Canadians.

What is your favourite thing about LEVEL Van?
LEVEL Van is in the perfect spot to be a part of the excitement of Vancouver. We are minutes away from Yaletown, Gastown and Davie Street, and we are just a short walk from shopping, Rogers Arena and the beach. Everything is within walking distance.

What is your favourite restaurant in the area?
Brunch is my favourite meal, so two of my favourite restaurants are Medina or the Twisted Fork for a great brunch.

Where is your favorite place to grab coffee?
On my way to work, I love to stop by Small Victories in Yaletown.

And lastly, what is your favourite way to relax and unwind?
My favourite way to unwind is to take my dog for a walk on the beach or on a hike on one of our many hiking trails. The city is beautiful to explore rain or shine, and I love being out in nature as there is so much to see here.
