Snowshoeing North Shore Mountains
If you’re visiting during the colder winter months, this activity is a must-do! There are lots of snowshoeing trails where dogs are welcome, including the Hollyburn Trail in Cypress Provincial Park, and the appropriately named Dog Mountain Trail on Mount Seymour. In most cases, your dog will need to be on-leash, and because these areas are usually unpatrolled, so make sure that you are prepared for backcountry travel.

Sunset Beach Park
As its name reveals, Sunset Beach Park is the perfect place to take in the sunset with your pup by your side. This park is just off the seawall with plenty of good-natured pups and their owners taking in sand and surf with their buddies. This is a lovely beach for dogs to play in the sand and take a swim, and far enough removed from the seawall that they won’t get in the way of pedestrians and bikers. You also get fantastic views of the boats shuttling in and out of False Creek.
Coo Coo Coffee – Yaletown
Located right in Yaletown, Coo Coo Coffee is a relaxing stop for you and your pup after a nice walk. Your little pooch can join you on the patio as you sip on some of the popular coffee selections and snacks.

Spanish Banks Off Leash Dog Area
Spanish Banks Off-Leash Dog Park in Vancouver is a spacious area where dogs can run freely, located next to Spanish Banks beach. It features ample space for play, beach access for swimming, and scenic views of the ocean and mountains. The park includes waste disposal stations and benches, making it a popular spot for dog owners to enjoy time with their pets.
Norvan Falls, North Vancouver
This hike in North Vancouver leads along the banks of Lynn Creek to 30-metre-tall Norvan Falls. While the hike is not short, it’s fairly flat so it is only moderately difficult. Dogs are allowed off-leash on this trail too. See the Norvan Falls hiking guide for more info
